Statement on Carbon Neutrality
Cardiology Devices Ltd is committed to achieving carbon neutrality. We approach this by tackling both large-scale systematic decision-making, as well as day-to day, “whole cost” attribution principle to carbon emissions.
In practice, this means we pursue large-scale projects with a prediction of the effect it would have on carbon emissions, and alter our day-to-day practice to minimise carbon emissions as we carry out these projects.
We evaluate that the net effect of this project will help the health industry to take significant steps towards carbon neutrality, reducing polypharmacy, hospital admissions and outpatient appointments.
The environmental impact of this project has been mitigated by:
Meeting virtually rather than in person
Reducing centralised office space to minimise heating and electricity cost
Working with local teams to minimise necessary travel
Non-iterative manufacturing, and manufacturing within the UK
The remaining carbon emission effects of Cardiology Devices Ltd are:
Emissions for travel locally, and when necessary, across the UK
Electricity usage in modelling and computing
Energy usage in manufacturing
Whilst it is not within our current capacity to offset or mitigate these carbon emissions, we track them with the intention to offset these emissions when it is possible to do so. The overall effect of this project and the reduction in carbon emission from its output will significantly outweigh the carbon emission cost of development and production.
